Progetto Erasmus+ (parte 2)

ERASMUS+ JOURNEY TO PARIS 12-17 NOVEMBRE 2018 DIARY

Day 1 – Monday
Today we arrived in France because we participated to an Erasmus+ project!
It’s been the first time for some of us to fly in a plane, fantastic! The flight lasted about 2 hours. Luckily everything went well.
Once in the airport, we met the Spanish students and we travelled together with them for 1 hour and a half by underground and tram to reach the Hostel. Later we got to the School where we met the French children from the primary school. They were very friendly and we played with them running in the courtyard, then we got to the school hall where some teenagers from the middle school offered us some food and drinks.
We talked with them and we visited their school. It’s very big and there are rooms like the canteen, the infirmary and a room for homework. They start school at 8:20 and finish at 6 p.m. After the tour we went back to the school hall and we ate typical food from the different countries participating in the project: France, Italy, Germany and Spain. We had dinner and talked and made friends.

Day 2 – Tuesday
On Tuesday morning teachers divided us into two groups: the first one went to Primary School and the second one to Secondary School. There we stayed in the same room of the previous day and teachers encouraged us to discover the beauties of our suburbs and to get information about it from people who live there.
The first group made a small guide- book with string and coloured paper. For Lunch we had rice with cucumbers and corns, while the second group had meat and potatoes in the school canteen.
In the afternoon we all together went to Paris city centre. We made a boat trip by “batobus” on the river Seine. After that we went sightseeing and visited the Eiffel Tower. Then we had dinner and came back to the hotel.

Day 3 – Wednesday
After breakfast we went to school and we divided into two groups. We had a treasure hunt. The teachers gave us some cards with photos of “Street Art”. Exploring the district we had to find all the places in the photos. We had lunch at the Hostel. Then we went to the centre of Paris to visit Notre-Dame, the wonderful gothic cathedral built in the Middle-Ages. After that we went to the Conciergerie, that was a royal Palace but now is a museum. During the French Revolution it was a prison, too: Queen Marie-Antoinette was detaineed there.
In the evening French families hosted us in their houses: some families spoke Italian, too. At 9 o’clock we came back to the Hostel and we went to sleep.

Day 4 – Thursday
We worked in groups as usual. The first group played “the names game”: one student had to say his/her name, look at one person and move to his/her place in a circle. This person had to do the same thing and so on, till everybody knew all the names. The second group did a treasure hunt in the streets around the school to look for some graffiti. Later we spoke about our neighborhoods and we wrote our ideas about the guide. Next we went to the computer lab and we showed our neighborhood on-line to the German and the French, they showed us theirs. We all had lunch together in the canteen.
In the afternoon we split into 2 groups and took pictures in the area around the school and commented them together. In the evening we visited the Sacre Coeur Basilica, we bought some souvenirs and got back to the Hostel.

Day 5 – Friday
In the morning we were divided into groups with the German, the Spanish and the French and we prepared some posters for the guidebook we have to do. When we finished this job, we were grouped according to our nationality and we made a scheme to make clear what we have to focus on when they will come to our country. Then we read this scheme to the other students in our mother tongue while the teachers translated it for the foreign students.
At lunch time we ate at the school canteen for the last time and then we got back to the classroom to sing and have fun all together.
Later we returned to the Hostel because we had to arrange the luggage, but soon we prepared again to go back to school because there was a small party. The Spanish began the Flamenco dance entertainment, their typical dance. Then we invited everybody to dance and we put some “Just Dance” videos on youtube. There was also a buffet with ham sandwiches and cheese sandwiches, sweets, deserts and drinks. We danced and had fun all night long and we chatted a lot with the guys from the other countries.
Unfortunately, everything has to finish and also this party ended among tears and smiles.
This week we have really enjoyed ourselves also thanks to the French students who were very kind and welcoming.
